2019 MINIMUM WAGE
One of the most common mistakes employers make is NOT paying their employees the correct minimum wage…Failure to comply with such mandated law can result in hefty fines and lawsuits that can turn into a class action lawsuit.
California being one of the most complex states with their labor laws is also complex with their California Minimum wage…There are several components for determining the correct minimum wage in the State of California.
Effective Jan. 1, 2019, the minimum wage for California employers with 25 or fewer employees increases from $10.50 to $11.00. Employers with 26 or more employees will see the minimum wage increase from $11 to $12. The state minimum wage will reach $15 by 2022.
Even with the above minimum wage being correct, companies still need to verify the minimum wage by County and City to ensure they are paying their employees correctly according to county and city ordinance.
